METALS: Chile's copper exports double, but prices stable

Copper exports from Chile, the world biggest copper producer, hit US$1.34bn in May following the 51% rise in the copper price over the past year. Currently copper prices are stable at around US$1.19 per pound as the market tries to decide how the Chinese authorities' attempt to cool down the economy is playing out.
